Most of us tend to do the same thing we’ve been doing for years because the thought of change seems overwhelming. People who hate their boss continue to work in the same office or stay with someone who has abused them for years because they fear that they might get someone even worse if they leave. These are just a few examples from our daily life, which tell us why we fear change.
We tend to stay in pain longer because it doesn’t hurt us unfortunate enough to escape it. When we think of changing, we find flaws in our actions and presume that we might be even worse at something we would try. We’re so scared of change because we’re more afraid of what we’ll lose and don’t tend to care about the things that we might gain.
If you stay constant, pressure from all the bad things and all the years will keep piling up and ultimately affect you when you release the tension in seconds.
So why do we keep pressurizing ourselves even though it’s not good? That’s because we always tell ourselves that tomorrow will be better. Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you have been doing something you don’t like for years and keep telling yourself that tomorrow will be better, it will never be. It only gets worse. That’s how pressure piles up. You shouldn’t do something that doesn’t interest you. You should change to doing something that you enjoy.
Another major thing people worry about when it comes to change is the fear of the unknown. They are afraid of what might happen and what they will do even before they start adapting to it. Remember, we aren’t born with knowing what the future might hold. It all depends on us and how we make of the situation. You can either hold on to something and complain about it for the rest of your life or let go and start new.
Sometimes, the people make us feel the need to change. You learn to adapt and gain exposure to new ideas and thoughts when new people surround you. There are more benefits to change than there are negatives.
It is only possible to survive with change in a fast-paced world. Innovations require developing new skills, new environments need adapting to new surroundings and people, and a modern-day requires facing new challenges every day regardless of the outcome.
You have to be flexible to change and learn from your mistakes if you commit any during that change. You might have a lot to risk, but you won’t get anywhere in this world without risking it. Change is a beautiful thing. You’d be surprised at what you’ll gain when trying something new. You’ll not only learn a lot of things but also welcome many new opportunities for yourself to grow.
